"the help" fashion

finally went and saw the help with my very good friend lauren. after reading the book in two days, i am happy to say that the movie was also fantastic.

especially the costumes. i would definitely wear almost everything emma stone was dressed in. they inspired me.
here are some clothes from the movie... via imdb and hollywood movie costumes & props.

absolutely amazing. i wish i could have found better pictures... the one shirt dress emma wore that was sleeveless and blue was to die for!

here are some very affordable alternatives for your (and possibly my) wardrobe:

adorable!

lace wedding gowns

it was love at first sight when melissa and i went to that bridal show a few weeks ago. ever since then, i've been obsessed.

backless lace wedding gowns. or wedding gowns with sheer lace backs. either way, i'm sold.

(all via pinterest--search keyword: lace wedding dresses)

ever since my first prom, i have been a firm believer that the back of the dress makes the dress.

that 70's blog post

i love how fads from decades come and go in the fashion cycle over and over.
right now i have been and still am obsessed with the 70's looks all over the place...
maybe it's because mustard is my favorite color. maybe it's all the ridiculous prints and plaids.
either way, it's fantastic.

just add some jeffrey campbell shoes from my earlier blog and your 70's outfit will be complete!

ruffle cakes

i'm all about weddings nowadays.
am i anywhere close to being married? no.
however, i am my best friend melissa's MOH, and i recently attended a bridal show in atlanta with her.
also, it is my newfound dream to be a wedding planner.
so, all of that along with my new pinterest addiction, i have discovered a trend.

these are probably the most gorgeous cakes i've ever seen. after seeing an overload of smooth fondant, it is nice for a change, and a textured one at that! beautiful.

know what's even better?
they are all from American Eagle and under $100.

jeffrey campbell

i have never been a shoe girl per say. i'm the type that would rather spend precious money on clothes than on one expensive pair of shoes.

while interning at custard boutique in savannah this summer, however, i discovered jeffrey campbell. and i was mind blown.

these works of art are not for the fashion-shy. they are sculpted for the bold and the brave, the trend setter, the girl that walks by and everyone wishes they could pull off her look but feel as if they can't.

well, here's that girl's secret. one of them, anyway.

for more photos and shopping, visit nordstrom, or if you are in the savannah area, stop by custard and check out their jeffrey campbell selection.

matte nail polish

i first discovered matte nail polish from a friend, who had a lovely turquoise color on her toenails. i was fascinated, but other matters pushed it to the back of my mind.

however...

after seeing this image on Pinterest my fascination was restimulated. i can see them being especially beautiful with fall looks.

sigh... now if only i can get my fingernails to look that nice!

here are the matte colors offered by OPI:
